I see i scarred you slightly with my 'it's a bit long in the tooth now' comment, lol.
It can use any of the full screen 480*270 picture size JCVs. If you have the room and using all NA choose D3060150A, or if you don't need MX D1279230A has all the views in the other for US & CA. If space is a real problem you can use D3153150A, it's meant for the 2GB memory1xxx and doesn't have very many views.

@RDesikan
Read this: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Scroll down to read about PC Install Versions and gmap folders, many links there as well. They're handy for creating 'shortcut' maps of a smaller area e.g instead of all NA or US, you could do just FL or even your local area, one single map tile even. Lots more interesting stuff in the tuts index too. Have a browse there, it'll save you posting and waiting for answers for stuff: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Yes, just above the gmap folder explanation. "Have you downloaded a PC map version (.exe) for Basecamp/Mapsource?" PC map Version is the old .exe type but that explanation kindacovers the use of PC Install [.msi] as does the one for gmap folder use which follows it.

If you are going to reinstall all over again, you might as well move on to the latest version. See post #54 (the one above yours).![]()
It works like charm. Thanx, Smokefre. The only trouble is I can't make it work on BaseCamp. I'll keep on trying.
1. Have the unlocked map file (gmapsupp.img) in a folder named Garmin on an SD or microSD.
2. Place the memory card in the card reader of your PC and fire up BaseCamp.
3. The map should be recognised automatically.
4. First time loading of the map may take a little while. The progress bar will show you the progress.
