OSM Extra Downloads are only for registered users, which make a donation to request registration; so, they are not free... However; all can download piece by piece all maps for free and form the entire map shared here.

First, you must have a decompresser properly installed in your computer, there are many options for free in internet...
Download or put all .rar files in the same directory. Click in one of then and they will be decompressed to the original file.

Copy it in your nuvi's \Garmin directory
or new devices in .System hidden directory.
In 3xxx and 2xxx you can put it also in sd/Map folder with anyname.img; the last option is the recommended.

Observation, Canada not included in OSM; and Mexico ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) and almost any other country can be easily downloaded for free in the page coded in the upper of this post.
