I know of a neighborhood where garmin will route you through a backyard. You can see that the road did go through that property at one time, but my friend has lived there in the area for about 25 years and the private yard has been there that whole time.

Garmin releases at first a rough sketch of a map, and then (sometimes by years), the map is slowly improved ...
