In the stick tread [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (all members of this forum must read it, as the others stick treads), I found this link [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] that must answer the most of your questions.

Also observe that your difficulty was predict, there are no way to Know what type of file is offer if the uploader don't entirely identify it:

About your type of device, install the files will not work if your device not supports it's feature. For example, a Nuvi 1490 will not support voice recognition, don't help you install this type of file! More details in: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

A big hug! Hope been helpful!

Easiest way to see which JCV file is applicable to your unit is to look at the version for your older map and match the file numbers closest to it. e.g. If your device used D3060110A.JCV for 2014.20 of NA, it will use D3060120A.JCV with this version. It is also sometimes ok to use other files if the resolution matches but not always, for instance the 212*234 resolution file D3836070A is exclusively for x0/x2/x4 nuvis and SP on phones and cannot be used on other nuvi models which use 212*234 such as 2xxx series [or vice versa of course] because of differing encryption.
