I still don't understand all the "hoo hah" about jcv files (I am using a Nuvi 1300 and I don't think I'm going to get anything fancy out of it like HDTV quality images; and this 3d stuff is also something that is escaping me. I am content with Jack telling me where to turn and when.
Too, it was my hope that the first posts, broken down into regions, would be simple .img files that require no brain work on my part. I will say I did re-discover the fast image unlocker. Not sure what it did, however!
I conclude I'll never be as skilled as yourself, Neil, and the many other prolific posters who create and make life easier for those of us who, while trying as hard as we can to digest all this data, can't really make it click 1, 2, 3. There always seems to be some glitch somewhere. Generally user error generated ones at that.
I hope that as time goes by the more skilled will put into .img files sectors of Europe. That being said, the maps I just used....not two weeks ago....all worked quite well: The Benelux road maps and the Amsterdam CX map. So well, in fact, I'm downloading as many of the maps as I can to stay current. However, at my age (and that's some 7 generations) I'm not sure I'll be going on too many long flights. Been there; done that. The flights to and from Schiphol from Omaha, NB just take too long and these AK-47 fragments in my lower back are talking to me more frequently these days STRONGLY suggesting I take a break after walking 100 meters or so. Nonsense.
I don't believe there's going to be anytime that you'll find a map created by axxxtw to share, although I wish I had the mindset to be able to do so. Thanks for the great work you pro's really do for those of us that have just enough info to crash our units!
