At first I believed the problem may be with your firmware version.... I have the same issue with additional maps not showing up on my Nuvi 5000 - It is at firmware v4.10, and it does not recognize any maps except gmapprom.img & gmapsupp.img - Unlike my 760 and my 3760 which both can display this map without incident.
But after you mentioned deleting maps... I think your firmware version may not accept all those maps. I keep the excess maps (those beyond what my firmware recognizes) in a Directory called MAPS, where I store them using their original names (USA Topo v5, etc.) so I can retrieve them or rename them with a PC or tablet at a moments notice just by stuffing the SD card (or mini-card) and renaming them to gmapsupp.img)
If you have used gmaptool, I also found I could make maps NOT show up on the Nuvi's MAP list if I'd re-coded it to be TRANSPARENT (Gmap tool feature) - a mistake I found through experimentation.
BTW- Has anyone found the Mapsource DVD version of this map?
On a previous project I combined parts of different maps (City Nav 2013 & SE Topo) into one large file with Full Navigation capabilities PLUS water features (swamps, wetlands and Bogs) shown with pretty map graphics. I'd like to do the same but with Topo v5 and City Nav 2014.x.
Has anyone found US Topo v5 - the one installable with mapsource? I'm looking to combine it with City Nav 2014 maps to make a custom map and mapsource is the easiest way for me.
Note by MOD: moved and merged in correct 3rd.
I saw the U.S. Topo v5 posted recently.... but I'm looking for the original US TOPO v5 with MAPSOURCE.
Has anyone found it?

pietu, it appears part 6 unlocked of TOPO U.S. 100K (v5.01) is corrupt. Tried downloading it 4x, and every time get a CRC error. Internet here is very slow, so tried it at various times of day (varying dl speeds) with the same result.....I will go for the locked versions, but it took several days to download the unlocked archive...Winrar repair did not work.
Anyone else?
Map 5.01 is the same than the one posted in OP, compiled with a new compiler, so a bit smaller, FID is the same, content is the same.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Updated winrar from 3.91 to 5.21 with no difference. Downloaded the zippyshare UL file and still get crc error for part 6?! Suspect there is another archive file that is somehow related to the error, so going to start over with the other files....that is IF 5.01 version is newer than what I have from early 2013. I have version 5 with a header date of 5/17/13...Is the header date perhaps the date of install?
Thx for the upload and comments!
Katymag, the OP posted file shows a header date of 5/11/12 as opposed to pietu's header date 11/3/13 map with a version of 5.01...Garmin is very coy about version identification on the topos, but wouldn't pietu's be a later version? The OP post says the release is Jan 2013, but the header is different (2012)...? Does the FID define the version? Maybe I need a lesson in headers vs versions, vs FID, etc...
@floydo
The mapping data in V5 and V5.01 is exactly the same and this is why they share the same FID, which does indeed define the version but perhaps not in the way you mean in regard to it's version number. It's already been explained by catymag in post #25:
If the exact same mapping data is compiled differently with greater or lesser compression used by the mapmaker for instance, there will be a difference in the size of the finished map, but that and/or different header dates and version numbers [which are arbitrary anyway] won't affect the actual map info in the image file itself if the same raw data is used as input. So this:Map 5.01 is the same than the one posted in OP, compiled with a new compiler, so a bit smaller, FID is the same, content is the same.
is the same map as this:Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
Note that regardless of the finished size, not only are the Mapset names the same but importantly the the Product number and FID are the same [TOPO U.S. 100K v5; P/No 006-D4339-00; FID 2837] indicating that they are the same map but compiled differently.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links

...the Product number and FID are the same [TOPO U.S. 100K v5; P/No 006-D4339-00; FID 2837] indicating that they are the same map but compiled differently.....
That nails it! Catymag did explain, but there were these unexplained "conflicts" re header dates, versions, etc...that prompted me to ask (for clarification). I have seen P/Ns by manufacturers used loosely as well (form fit function, but maybe not content)....and...
It is interesting that some people are selling a "new" version of this mapset as a DVD with a P/N 010-11001-02, but garmin doesn't list that, it shows 010-11001-52 for the DVD, the download (010-D1309-00) and SD card version(010-C1098-00) have different P/Ns.....and Garmin most importantly doesn't seem to identify an actual version or date of change....
It is almost like the streetmaps that are clearly identified with a version are made by a different company.
So the question of the crc error can rest, since I already have FID 2837...
Ok, glad you're sorted on the map. But in P/N above you're now confusing Garmin's Part Numbers for the various products with the original image file's Product Number of 006-D4339-00 which is used there only. Any image files compiled from the PC installed data will have Product Number of 000-00000-00 [instead of 006-D4339-00, and have Ms 1 instead of Ms 0], for the original images as shown in the GMAPTool info previously].
This will explain more about the part numbers:

I think the map posted by pietu is preloaded in a device probably, sometimes these maps have this kind of numbering (v.5.0 -> v.5.01)
If it was newer it should have different product n. in header like 006-D4339-01 instead of 006-D4339-00 and different FID.
But this is my opinion only
New links in OP if someone wants to compare.
