Thread: Taiwan City Navigator 2013.10

Garmin Taiwan offers Mapsource files only for the 76x, 2x5W, 5000 and MobileXT.
All other devices get only the map and the additional files.
And yes, the files must be unlocked, but if u owe an Taiwan Nuvi, you can unlock the Mapsource file with the gma file on your device
(I would be screwed without Mapsource)

As i understood, i will NOT run the .exe files, but unzip them instead and it will create the .img files and i ll use gimgunlock , good to know

i Just installed the Taiwan map img files ( the main img for mapset and the second img was address search ) after unlocking them with gimgunlock into a garmin Nuvi 50lm. Although after extracting the exe file there was a 3D img file, i did not copy that one cause on Garmin website it says Nuvi 50 doesnt have that capability. So i installed only additionally the JCV folder . The map was selectable under system settings inside the Nuvi 50LM and when i wanted to select Where to go , address, i couldn't select the COUNTRY to TAIWAN, because i guess the map files are all only in chinese. So if you would simply write TAIWAN with english characters it won't find it. But maybe if i could write it in chinese it would. Just wanted to clarify. If i did something wrong please let me know.
