Thread: Garmin China City Navigator NT map 2012.40 (Official+Venus)

Hi Syzygy,

There's a bit of a problem, are all the map that you uploaded in post #4 and #5 are still locked?
I tried to use Fast IMG Unlocker to unlock the maps that I　downloaded, however, my Garmin still saying it still need to be unlocked. Unlike the other map that I used (Not from this thread), it works just perfectly fine with other maps.

Any idea what apps you use to unlock those maps that you uploaded.. (if it's really locked).

Yes. Locked and zipped maps are preferred in this forum. The tool you need is: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Thanks to your good works we've been enjoying the many versions of Venus-CN maps.
I downloaded these latest versions:
Venus-CN-China-2012.40-CHS-NT17-QSI+ISM.part1
Venus-CN-China-2012.40-CHS-NT17-QSI+ISM.part2
Unzipped and while unlocking with gimgunlock.exe encountered the messages
extracted from the tail of the log:

then stopped. No unlocked img file was produced. I thought my download
process corrupted the files so I downloaded again. No joy, same result.
Do you know what's wrong? Or were the files posted on Baidu corrupted
in the first place, somehow?

Yes, I followed every instruction. I've been successful with unlocking other maps
with gimgunlock so when I first encountered the problem I tried with another lock
map and it did the unlocking. I even tried downloading gimgunlock again fearing
I had an older version. gimgunlock is the simplest tool to use - just drag the file
to this executable! But of course I also tried using a command window so I can
capture the log. Unfortunately no joy still ...

Could anyone mirror to netload.in or anywhere else?

There are too many maps in this thread and it is unreasonable to request a mirror for each. Please be specific about which one you have problem to download, even with Garmin official links?

BTW, how come you can download paid map form the official seller's website?

For viewing purpose, I would suggest to download the official Type1 from post #4.

It is common for vendors to have their products available on the Internet for downloading. Microsoft does the same for their Office products. Garmin is no exception. All you need are the right links to download and the necessary unlock code to use them.
