Open your gmatz.img file wth GMapTool, press 'Info' or 'Details' and look at the Version number in Header. e.g.:
Reading file C:/Maps/TimeZone/V12/gmaptz.img.
File: C:/Maps/TimeZone/V12/gmaptz.img, length 591872
Header: 16.04.2013 10:48:43, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 12.00, Ms 0, 006-D1074-00
Mapset: Time Zone Map
