Guys,
I have a query regarding the new unlocker that must be used with the 2012 maps.
With the previous unlocker utility, which took in the GPS unit ID as a parameter to give you an unlock code, one could replace the unit's basemap with new maps and the routing would still work.
With the new unlock utility, there is no unit ID, does this mean my unit will stop routing if I replace my 2010 basemaps with the 2012 ones?
My unit is a Quest 2
Thanks!

Answer: No... your routing will be as it always was. The newer unlockers don't require a unit ID because they unlock (modify) the .IMG file and do away with the need for and .UNL file in your quest. The unit ID was previously required to generate the unlock code for a specifig GPS unit.
Cool, thanks.
One other thing, the installation of 2012.03 does not let me go past the online registration window?
Instructions from post number 1
Right Click Setup.exe and extract with winRar. Then copy the .GMAP folder as per instructions below.
Extract .EXE file with WinRAR, SSA_2012.3\SA Streetmaps\setup [COLOR=#0000ff]contains GMAP folder
copy it in:
(in XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps) or
(in Vista, Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps)
You'll have your map in Mapsource.

For Mac unzip dmg -> hfs -> pkg ->gz -> pax -> gmap directory

Sorry, but i don't think you are getting it. You are 'running' the Setup.exe, but dasivarsa is telling you to 'extract' it. When you right-click the exe file you should be given the option to extract it or at least be able choose the default program to do so (win.rar, 7zip etc). If you are not given any option to extract it, jusr rename it to Setup.rar or Setup.zip and then double left click it. It should then be extracted by your default program and then follow the instructions in Post #1 as repeated in the post above yours to find the gmap folder.
