CourseView .img on on mapsource
I have tried loading the CourseView img into mapsource using gmaptool and get error when trying to open the map. I also loaded the img fill into a etrex legend. It didnt see the map. It looks like these img files can only be read by Approach. Anyone found a way to load these maps into mapsource?

No sorry, they work in Golf devices only. Try to load them in Basecamp copying the map in a Garmin folder in sd.

MapSource is too old for that. You can view the CourseView map by means of BaseCamp, but even BaseCamp cannot identify some specific objects (Approach polygons, polylines and points) of such maps. For improved viewing via BaseCamp you can add a special TYP file to the map, see the screenshot: Originally Posted by dcider

As Cnfhbr says, you can view this map in Basecamp but the polygons and POI used in this map are displayed by Basecamp with no colour (i.e. transparent) .
It is possible to find a workaround by means of a typ file.
I have made a test file ( this the one used in the screenshot of Cnfhbr) you can change everything in this typ file as you want, to improve readability, except the types/subtypes, that are required.
You can also use it in a GPS device to see the map.

Your etrex can see them undoubtedly because i once loaded the Pacific to a nuvi but it was totally useless to use as a golf map on it.
