Garmin's City Navigator Europe NT maps are NAVTEQ maps, which is a company owned by NOKIA but operates independently.
NAVTEQ (NOKIA) has employees in every region (country) that implement additions, corrections and changes on the map.
Except for the people working for NAVTEQ in every region it's impossible to know the exact differences between two versions.
You need "inside" information for this and I mean for every different region (country)!
Garmin's CNEUNT 2013.10 is NAVTEQ Q4/2011 map version.
NAVTEQ's most of the wolrd mapping by now, is Q3/2012 (closing end of May)
But some regions are still improving Q2/2012 maps.
The reasons for the delay of NAVTEQ's World Map are that the NAVTEQ Map is compiled as a world map and not as regional maps and that military authorities of some countries delay to approve their maps.
Finally, Navteq.com, MapReporter.navteq.com, Maps.Nokia.com they all show now Q3/2011 NAVTEQ maps (or else CNEUNT 2012.40 for Europe)
So, if you've reported a change or a correction and has been implemented on Q4/2011 NAVTEQ-CNEUNT 2013.10 you will not see it on those sites, but you can see on your Garmin.
Believe me when I tell you that NAVTEQ people are doing a great job updating their maps and checking one by one hundreds and thousands of regional reports by Nokia, Garmin, Navigon, NDrive and other navigation software users in order to improve their map.
All the maps we use are one or two versions behind the original NAVTEQ maps, but it's OK, we can wait for good and reliable stuff![]()
