LOL... Yeah, i grabbed the file before you removed it. Tried it out with a few tiles (London) using modded typ in EU2012.30 on a trusty old 265W. Crash and reboot error on start of route simulation, and wont bother to try it on my 1300 now as i'm sure it would be the same judging by your post above... didn't think the modded EU map looked any different than vanilla anyway. Personal taste maybe. Why is the modded I00009BC.TYP file so much smaller than the original though? Maybe that's the problem with EU? Might try again with SAf. Nice post anyway boet.

When Using this Map CN2013.10 Southern Africa together with The Tracks for Africa GPI on a nuvi 1300
I got very slow screen redraw after a JV or an automatic Zoom OUT while navigating and simulating.
Solution delete the Tracks for Africa GPI file from the nuvi now all normal again.
The File is not corrupt or anything as the same file works fine on more powerfull nuvis.
Took me a long time to fix this problem so I decided to share here.

If any one is interested in putting these file on an SD card for one of the new NUVI 3490's, do the following:-
Put the three directories ASR, G2S and JCV in the 'garmin folder in the root of the SD card and the gmap3d.img file in the 'maps' folder in the root of the SD card. Then create an unlocked gmapsupp.img file from MapsSource and rename it if required to anyname.img as the new NUVIs can use any name now, and put this in the 'garmin' folder as well.
Tested and Junction View and 3D Buildings all work.
Try to copy the TRACKS4AFRICA.GPI to c:\TRACKS4AFRICA.GPI and try again.
It's definately doable "try another computer" if all else fails.
I can't afford to upload at 2 Rands a Meg.

Fishman95,
I had the same problem and got around it by manually setting the codes. Instead of clicking the UNLOCK button, do the following:-
Click Change ID's, then set FID to 65535, PID to 255, RgnID to 255 and leave VenID as 0.
Click Save File - remember to give it another name.
@Venderi
Because original locked files are 'untouched', experienced people usually prefer to work with them. Although there is a way to make unlocked MS version copies to appear to be locked, that's another story. Read this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Post any further questions over there so as it's a bit OT in here.

I've downloaded this for my Garmin device, but I've read through this whole thread and the 'how to' section, but it does not say anything about these type of files that I've got. Attached is link to the contents of the folders that I've already unzipped. Could anyone please point me in the right direction please? Many thanks.
