Hi I am about to update my old 255w for a nuvi 40 or nuvi 50. Do not make up my mind yet. The thing is I have installed the maps in mapsource. But what extra files will I need to update maps of the 40 or 50?

Personally, for the $20US and $30US difference between the base model and the LM(Lifetime Maps) versions of the 40 an 50 I'd go with the LM versions.

If you've already got the gmap folder installed for MS, you've done the hard part. You'll find the rest is fairly easy... if your gmap is locked look at these: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Although...your question could also mean that you want to know what additional files can you use with 40/50. The only difference between 30/40/50 is screen size/resolution and weight. See this comparison:
All you 'need' is the JCV files and custom POIs (eg Safety Cameras) to fully complement your map. All other features such as LA, SLI, TTS are map or fw enabled.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links

Hello.
I`m trevelling to U.S.A saturday.
I downloaded the City Nav NA 2012.40 IMG ... Installed in my zumo 660.(copied the file)
My question is: Who can I import the POI of this maps? I can't find stores,parks,hotels, nothing on my garmin.
Anyone can help?

Garmin units search for POIs nearby the current GPS location. You can switch to simulation mode and set a manual GPS location or use the "Where to? -> Near" and select an appropriate option.

You can use JCV but not SID, Zumo 660 supports Lane assist (guides to proper lane for navigation with junction view) but not trafficTrends™ (calculates routes based on predicted traffic flow). Originally Posted by juniorl
