Names in the left panel appear when you select areas in the right panel in the map, this is possible if your map is unlocked.
To unlock it in MS use mapset unlocker and run it in gmap folder, the img you'll send to your gps will be unlocked too.

I have downloaded CN North America NT 2012.40 MAPSOURCE MIRROR

Then I installed and the map shows up in MS as "locked". This post says "To unlock it in MS use mapset unlocker and run it in gmap folder".
Where can I find this tool, I have downlaoded and tried some of the unlock tools [Garmin_Mapsource_Unlocker and unlock_mapset tool] and still show locked so I assume I did not download correct tool
I am using MS version 6.16.3

Keep in mind that unlocking the map for use in MapSource is only half the battle. If loading the map onto your GPS you'll have to unlock the map image file as well or else the map will still be locked on the GPS.
