Thanks for removing a certain post. OMG I finally figured it out after reading thread, Garmin units directories, characteristics and files. All this time I had to uncheck Hide protected operating system files (recommended) and found the internal JCV folder to the device. I feel like such a complete fool, thank you for all your help, everything is up and running now.

Thank you again for all your help and putting up with a noob like me

Any chance of splitting the JCV discussion between Noobvi and myself into a separate thread so as to not pollute this thread any further?

Thanks to kor@l for providing links. Could use some help:

1 - tried to download the "CN North America NT 2012.40 UNLOCKED IMG" files using the links above and couldn't get anywhere. The web pages are confusing in the very most extreme and certainly never provided an actual link that downloads a file

2 - got the JCV file and 3D map file straight away with one click (Not even a redirect to another web page, just starts downloading. Why the difference? It can't be size as each partial file of the NA Img file is smaller than either of these two)

3 - My traffic .db file is D232800.db but there is no link to it

4 - I'm not sure if the new time zone file listed in the first post is a new update from the one I currently have which is dated from 2010. Does anybody know? If it is new, is there a link?

5 - So far, I have not seen the North Am City Explorer 2012.40 posted. I currently have CXNA 2012.30. If I update my navigator map to 2012.40, can the explorer map 2012.30 still function properly or must I upgrade at the same time?

    Thx for all your help.

If you have the full map, not the small with just MMR files , it will work.

1 - After clicking the link on pg 1 post 2 you're directed to a page that has the three file hosters available on the lower portion of the page. Clicking on one of blue boxes adjacent to whatever file host the next page will provide you with the proper link.

2 - Betting you have a RS acct then. Only way 3D would have worked that way(direct). JCV is hosted on Gamins site, so it is direct.

3 - Believe you need the new one provided.

4 - Up to you really. Some areas of the world haven't had any "local' changes.

5 - Again, I believe it will work just fine.

    Please, does anybody have either:

    1) the D3060010A.JCV file
    2) the name of an alternate .jcv that could work on a 765T?

    Thanks in advance!

D3060010A.JCV is, according to my archived map sets here, from CNNT NA 2011.40

Why do you feel the need to change the name of a JCV file? Two maps here on a 785 and as long as you have the factory named JCV's in the proper dir, internal or SD, all should be fine.
