Interesting that UnLocker Alternative worked for you when FIU didn't as they are not dissimilar and i think compiled using the same tools. Were you using a 32-bit OS without the 3GB switch when you unsuccessfully tried FUI?

I'm confirming that Neil. I was using a 32 bit OS without the 3GB switch. and ULA 6.06.

I should eventually end up with this file on my Etrex Legend as only the Nuvi's 500 and 550 are really equipped for getting good graphics from these G2 charts.

Nice find! So Garmin UnLocker Alternative 6.06 worked in 32-bit OS without the 3GB switch. FIU choked as expected without the switch... pietu will chuckle over that one.

Yeah, yeah... laugh at the old guy, he's a bit slow . Actually, did know all that, i just worded 'big image file at around 1.6GiB needed the 3GB switch for FIU' a bit badly. Because i initially thought that BB was saying it had a large tile like GB Discoverer, but if i'd read all the thread (like i keep telling others they should have done) i wouldn't have made that mistake.

Well I gave it a few more tries with FIU and made sure the program closed by its self. This time I got a 826 MB file.

Looks like I am possibly running out of RAM resources or intermediate space during the unlock process. I did not use the 3GB switch. I am not going to bother trouble shooting and trying any more on this IMG file as the product does lack a lot of detail in lakes I expected it to show detail on especially in Homeport.

FIU works very well with smaller images on my computer.

Its all good since the end result is good. I'm going to put it to rest now.

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I am able to view this map on Homeport with no problem at all. I put it on my sd card and rename it to gmapsupp.img and put it in my Gpsmap 76csx. Pull the map up and view into lakes in my area and this is what it shows.

Part of the lake shows fine but the other part has the x grid over the map. What can I do to fix this?
