2010, I bought a Garmin nuvi 1250 from authorised distributor Aeco Technology.

On official website of the last map : Garmin City Navigator Singapore/ Malaysia NT 2011.40 or free Malfreemaps 2012.10(Malfreemaps.com) or Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT2011.40(Malsingmaps.com)

Wonder why unable to unlock City Navigator map.

I only can unlock Malfreemaps & Malsingmaps

some more notice that Garmin have imposed lifetime free map update

how can we get the lifetime free update map.

whether the free life time given to existing customer free

Have extracted the file and run the installer but message comes that the unlock record can't be found. Where can i find that one?

Also tried to unlock it with Unlock Generator and store the file gmapprom.img together with gmapprom.unl in the folder on the SD card but no still not working. Also tried .img fast img unlocker but also didn't work.
Please help!!

Device is Nuvi 3760.

1) Extract the 'exe' file again, e.g., type3.exe
2) Copy files 'gmapprom' and 'JCV' from 'mapdata' folder to your 'Garmin' and 'JCV' folders accordingly
3) Use Garmin 'keygen' to generate the unlock key, copy/paste and save as 'gmapprom.unl' file via 'notpad'( you need 2 input 'FID 2504
' and your device id')
4) Copy the 'gmapprom.unl' to your Garmin folder
Done and enjoy!

This map is fantastic! But I wonder why the map size is many times larger than my current 2010 30 version.

To share with those with Nuvi 1250, I used the type3 file. Used the keyunlocker to unlock the map, put the map in my ..system folder and the JCV file in the JCV folder. Both works beautifully. So far no problem. But I did not try the traffic feature.

If I decide to put the map in my SD card, will it work? I know the map will work. But what about the JCV?
