You mean that it will manually update if you manually choose to invoke WebUpdater from BaseCamp by using "Tools -> Check for Software Update on Selected Device ...".
Basically that's whats described i post #1 as "It's also possible to use Garmin WebUpdater. Either directly connected to internet ...". Garmin WebUpdater can be started either from the start menu or from other Garmin software as the case with BaseCamp.
