Also genuine MapSource versions of Topo maps have mostly no address search index. Topo maps are not made for house to house routing, there for you can use City Navigator maps. Topo maps are made for outdoor activities, like walking, biking, geocaching etc.

As p!xeldealer says above topo maps are not for door-to-door navigation but the search funtionality can be quite useful. Not very much when using the gps but when trying to find where small farms, lakes or other places are situated and using Mapsource it is handy. This is almost impossible to find even if you have some idea where to serch since details disappear quickly when zooming out in Mapsource.
The search functionality seems to be preserved even when using a map that has been "reverse engineered" from gmapsupp.img to Mapsource as the FriPro v2 Götaland is.
