I didnt try Europe. I used the Australian one.
You need to unlock the map - check the "Maps downloading tips for new Garmin users" thread for link to the software.
Then once its unlocked, rename it gmapprom.img or gmapsupp.img (depending if you want to use it as the primary or secondary map) and copy it to the garmin directory on your gps.

All these maps have been updated in January with new courses. I'm hoping the people who uploaded these will upload the new versions.
