mapsource 6.15.7 is required by RGPH maps.. updated mapsource can't read their img files.
is this still true on the 2.0 version? or on this 1.25 version for that matter? I'm still using the 6.15.7.
Thanx catymag for the mapsource version, and thanx for the info regarding basecamp! Really appreciate it!! Ur the best!
catymag, when you use the mapsource version, what do you mean by "but no adress search with such a map sent to gps-"? can you please explain it in detail? also, do we still need to change the typ file with the mapsource version of RG 1.25 after unlocking it?
from a post on Gpspassion by popej:
Address search in Mapsource is organised differently then in gmapsupp.img. GMapTool doesn't convert index files for address search and you loose that funcionality.
Converting with Gmaptool a gmapsupp.img to Mapsource version it doesn't support address search.
Joining Gmaptool Mapsource created files into gmapsupp.img they wont support address search.
Index file in Mapsource usually is named *_mdr.img. You can add it to gmapsupp.img, but it won't work in GPSr. Index file in Mapsource is bigger then index used in GPSr, this explains why you get bigger gmapsupp.img. Since GMapTool doesn't convert index files, it can create gmapsupp.img much faster then Mapsource.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

@catymag how bout using mapset tool kit? will the outcome regarding address search be the same? thanx
Yes just Mapsource can send an IMG with adress search enabled, but if the img has been made with Mapsource ,you can copy your IMG directly in gps and it will be complete with its adress search
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Does that image in the first post made by Mapsource? Or is it a GMapTool img?
Also, the Mapsource version you've linked to came from a GMapTool img?
the img posted in first post is an img made with Mapsource as you can see in Gmaptool log
The mapset name has been created by MSCode:Please Login or Register to see the links
You can see also(I deleted it here) the code that with the app. InfoUC

can tell us many other things too, please delete codes before posting a map![]()
I made the GmapTool MS version with the above img. Original MS created img.

So what you did was creating an MS version with MapTool which in that process already removed the address search, right? And there's no official MS version (not made with GMapTool) released yet? Or is it that Roadguide.ph decided to release img files and not MS directory files now?
So technically, the img file in the first post (created with MS) is already ready-to-be-used with address search just by copying it over to your Nuvi device, correct? Are the roads in that map still narrow or do I still need to change the TYP file?
