oh, OK - I see now. Thank you for that. Right click and pick "extract to" or whatever the unzip utility says. I have been fluffing around for a couple of hours trying to get another one that I didn't have the ".exe - missed it!" problem and have renamed to gmapsupp.img but not getting it to load, at least not the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (it says Map not installed after I give it the correct info for PID etc). Maps that I have that do work are in .gmap folders, with a lot of sub-folders. I am beginning to wonder if I have an old style something or other...?

However now that I have extracted this one and can see the .img file it doesn't seem to have the PID / FID / region data. Am I barking up the wrong tree to use these files? thank you.

Edit: I have Mapsource 6.16.3 installed (Edit 2: which is the patched version as I just re-downloaded that and found I already had the old and patched one in the relevant directory)

I KNOW we always get excellent advice and info from Catymag. Always! So I figured I should just check if I missed something that this fine woman said and, well - I did!!! And I totally accept her chuckling / sighing at my silly questions as helping idiots is something she will be well and truly over by now! Despite the fact that I was never going to get to an answer here with my endeavours I did learn some useful stuff while failing in the prime attempt.

So perhaps I could please ask if there is anywhere to find Mapsource maps of Malaysia? Thank you.
