I was just telling what I "think" and you came back to me in an aggressive way. That is just my opinion for the general public (no pun or any of that towards you), you can take it or not, up to you. You don't need to be sarcastic or anything.

It's no problem to unlock the demo map and even send it to the GPSr but it will be without street search and routing(?) since those are not included in the demo.
You need either a locked or unlocked contributors map which has the routing and search enabled already. That's why it took so long to even just get this 1.24 from 1.18 version because nobody shared the contributor's version from that timeframe, otherwise we would just unlock the demo every new release without waiting.
Hi,
I'm brandnew here and was very keen to get the contributor map. However, the thread is quite confusing.... What I did is, I followed post #20 and run roadguide.ph.124.part1.exe and then I run unlock mapset.exe afterwards. I did not change any TYP file but after I send the map to my Garmin device via Mapsource it seems to work fine, anyway Also searching streets is no problem. So I wonder, whether I missed out something...?? I also would love to know what roadguide.ph.124.part2.rar is for. Any advise is highly appreciated.
Cheers,

If you change the TYP you will get wider road views in the "View Map" section of your device.
When the part2 rar file of roadguide.ph.124 is needed when you extract the part1 file. Actually, you could try extracting either of the two files and you will get the same result. Without the part1 or part2, Winrar will prompt you of the archive being corrupted or incomplete.
Hope that helps

I've heard that the demo unit (I don't know what exact model of Garmin Nuvi) in Blade shows the map of the Philippines in 3D. I'm not sure what Philippines map they used but this device is Philippines edition only, IIRC that's the nuvi 1360? How did they have 3D maps?
Ok, got it. And it seemed to work fine. Just to reconfirm on how to run "GMapTool", I just have to load the file "12f6.TYP" from jklink\roadguide.ph folder , then select this file and the select "Change" and tick "Replace TYP" file. That's it, right?
Cheers,
