    syzygy,

I agree with you upon the idea that coordinate are stored in NOD files that have major influence on trip plan. And finally I found out that I mixed the index within/outside node files.

But I cannot appreciate your idea that indexes would be automatically corrected to non-shifted data. They are not 2D/3D spreadsheet with reference to other files and links. The program with index facilities such as Garmin, makes use of map data as 5-7D space and even more complex.

I never said such thing as indices would be automatically corrected to non-shifted data. Where do you get that idea?

I thought I have made it clear that the indices used for searching and the coordinates (corrected or not) used for route planning and routing are two independent things. Correcting a coordinate will not change nor be required to change any index used for searching, no matter how complex the index is. Similarly, searching a road name does not rely on the coordinates (corrected or not) info of the road. Still confused?

It looks like there is no simplified Chinese characters displayed when you are on the POI search screen. Do you see the Chinese names of roads and POIs displayed on the map at all? If not, it chould be a general Chinese language support issue. Otherwise, it could be a Chinese input method issue. Sorry, I don't have a A10 to recreate, study and fix your problem.

When i go to "Cities", i can type in Chinese Characters. like "北京", then i garmin can show the Beijing city. And it able to search POI surrounding 500m.

But if i got direct into POI feature, nothing icon inside.. so cannot do search.
