OK so Im a noob. I was successful with downloading the IMG in post 1. I then used Fast IMG unlocker 1.9 on the map IMG file. 3rd I took my formatted Micro SD card and created a folder called "Garmin". I dragged and dropped the map IMG file in that folder and put the card in my SD slot on my Garmin 300. Worked perfectly.

Now my question is, will this same process work in my buddies garmin nav unit for his car. I am guessing its a Nuvi or some similar model made by garmin. basically could I take my sd card and put it in his garmin and have it work??

sorry for the basic questions. I dont have mapsource loaded, never needed it. and I dont want to install the wrong version till I read up a little more about which version to install from some of the tutorials here.
