Wonder if they are the same .SRD files or different from the 8xx series files... and wonder if they changed them for this new map as well?

I am guessing the *.srd files were downloaded because they were not found when map was upgraded. These files (English_American.srd) exist on 8xx series also. Can someone post the file size for English_American.srd for 3790?

SRD files are preinstalled to the GPS unit. Updates are handled by the Garmin WebUpdater.

I have some [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] with a test for WebUpdater and SRD files.

There's a "GarminDevice.xml" file for a nüvi 3790T in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] that could be edited for WebUpdater purpouse.

Reverted back to 2011.20 and all works again. The single variable I did not try was to remove the renamed D2339030A.JCV to D1279080A.JCV on the 885T during the complete install of 2011.30, ASR and JCV files that failed to Find Address by voice command. Perhaps there is an interaction with this file giving Find Address errors. I do not know. Giving up for now but will watch for other possible success stories.

I have created and downloaded the MapSource version of na 2011.30 to the 885T as it does render a different and smaller file. Voice Commanded Find Address still does not work using the ASR.RAR files made available today. Any one have any other ideas how to get this update to fully function on an 885T? For now, going back to 2011.20.

No, same problem with for me.

However, I also get the same problem with the 2011.20 files. Can you give me any tips? Did you perhaps use the mapsource install for 2011.20? I used the unlocked IMG file and the ASR files from the 2011.20 post. I can only get full voice by going back to my old version.

    Update:

I tried the 2011.20 mapsource, and this failed as well as far as the ASR files go. I am guessing that the only way to get voice recognition to work on nuvi 8xx at this point is to use the "full install" -- and the only version of this I have is 2010.30.

    darkelf1,

I have not gotten 2011.30 to use Search using Address. Think the ASR files available are not correct for the version of the map. Went back to 2011.20 and Address search works fine again. I used the 2011.20 locked image and the 2011.20 asr files posted and all works fine. I do not ever expect to use MapSource transfer to work with ASR 's but I would love to know if that does work but not going to go through the effort here to find out. Leaving well enough alone for now. Have not tried 2011.20 or .30 Europe using the ASR for either so can not confirm their functionality either. I believe others have confirmed however. At this time, I refuse to spend another $500 for voice activated Garmin so am stuck looking for correct ASR and JCV file sets and they seem harder to locate now that newer Nuvi maps use different file sets. If I do get it to work, I will post back.

    Mikie
