i have mapsource ver 6.16.2....do i need this prog to convert to img file?
im having problem with this version. it cannot calculate the route from batangas to bocaue bulacan. seems like it cannot calculate the route if youre going to pass thru SLEX. the problem i had with version 1.14 is that it doesnt want to go thru SLEX, it always choose the route passing thru calamba, then out to service road.
anyone having this problem?
Yes I also have problems routing with v1.15. It installed easily following the instructions, I did not have a previous version in MapSource so no uninstall was performed. The auto-routing function works poorly for short distances (10-30 km), following small roads and roundabout routes, and not at all over longer distances. I have v1.13d on my GPS and it's routing works well, only occasionally do I need to add a via point to get the road I want. I don't want to update it with v1.15 unless the routing works, am I missing something?
i dont know what you guys are doing but here it works ok nmn
Yup, I dont what is wrong. I tried doing this on Win7 and WinXP, then reformat and tried doig on fresh install WinXP but still the same. My 1.13 map works perfectly on my GarminXT on nokia X6, maybe its because I downloaded the IMG file of it and not the MapSource version.
Can someone please upload their working 1.15 map IMG so that I (and the others) can use it.
Hi,
Im just wondering which version to download, this one (1.15) or the previous version (1.14)? Also, Im wondering why that thread is already locked?
By reading the comments, it seems more people are having issues with this version than the old one?
Would appreciate any feedback from people who've tried both versions... thanks!
EDIT:
Well, I carefully followed instructions and managed to install 1.15 contributors map.
Im just wondering about the comments here about possible "bugs".
Ive been using Roadguide's Standard (Free) map for a few months now, and its hit and miss. I use it even on routes i take regularly and know by heart, and it usually gives me "wrong" advice and which route to take. I just ignore it and it keeps recalculating until we're both on the same page. :-P
Makes me wonder if and WHEN I do need real routing advice, if i can rely on it completely.
There have been times that it did get me to where i wanted to go, but i noticed i had taken the longer route.
There also was a couple of times (when i had free time) that i "listened" to it's advice and followed it despite my regular route being on the opposite direction. I did learn some new alternate routes and i passed thru parts of my city ive never been to before, so that was cool. :-)
As for making a route that far ahead and it not being abe to, i tried that before under the STANDARD (Free) map. I was in Manila, and as a lark (and not a real planned trip) I tried to go to Baguio, then to Tagaytay, both cases it said it cannot calculate route. I just dismissed it as a natural limitation since I thought the destinations were too far away . Are you saying that it shouldnt be the case and Garmin maps should be able to handle it??
Im indoors now at nighttime, so ill wait till im out tomorrow to see if can make a distant route.
In the meantime, thanks so much for the uploader for this !!!

Hi, are there any advantages or disadvantages of using the img vs the mapsource version? Or it doesn't matter?
