Copying the GMAP directory as explained in post #1 will make the map recognized by MapSource. The only difference is that it's not listed as an installed application in the control panel section for install/uninstall of software. There's many Garmin map releases with just the GMAP structure.
Since MapID < 2200 it should work with the normal MapSource >= v6.14.1.
Hi,
I have Mapsource V6.15.7
I cannot figure out which directory I should put the IMG file to be able to view it.
I have tried:
C:\Users\anwar\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Maps\GMAP and placing the gmapsupp.img
C:\Users\anwar\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Maps\ and placing the gmapsupp.img
I also entered the unlock code in Mapsource...
I tried following the 1st post (i have windows 7) but cant figure it out.
Any help is appreciated.
It sounds to me that you are not doing quite the right thing. Assuming you want to use mapsoursce. You should have downloaded the mapsourcse version after doing this and extracting you should have a directory similar to
sorry wrong button - City Navigator Middle East NT 2011.10.gmap This is a "Folder" inside will be 4 or 5 other files 1 ending in .mdr and another ending .mdx . You place the entire folder into - C:\Users\anwar\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Maps and then restart Mapsource it will appear in the list of available maps. gmapsupp is a file that would be used on your garmin device.
can't see links despite registerd & logged in
Trying the download now with Garmin XT on Nokia E72, and working out how to get to work with a BlackBerry 93003G Device, which is so far frustrating![]()
