Take a look in the GarminDevice.xml file for your device. It's probably like the piece in the example below. It should then be the path "[Unit 3790T]:\Map\********.img".

    Code:

If 3790 behaves the same as 13xx, you can put multiple maps in the \map folder in the external SD card or the internal memnory. Use any names you like for the maps and the unlock files in matched pairs; e.g. paris.img & paris.unl; roma.img & roma.unl.

That 's correct you can use any name for the map as long the extension is ".img", same goes for 3760.

Thanks but only some cityxplorer maps work correctly because new maps use GMA protection so EPM with public transport are not avaiable. Only for old cityxplorer maps work. We must study for new GMA protection!!! I've GMA protection on my SYSTEM folder for my original gmapprom but i've delete it so now i can use unlocked gmapprom so i think that is possible take an original cityxplorer map with GMA, unlocked cityxplorer file, delete GMA and generate unl file with PID 2 only....i hope...
    I've new NUVI 3790T
    Bye

It won't work...I have tried. If you're already using an unlocked gmapprom.img, the GMA file is not needed with *City Navigator* maps. Not so with the newer cityXplorer maps. They can be unlocked using the available unlockers and they will work fine as an unlocked map but the EPM will not be available without the GMA file for that particular mapset tied to your unit's "unit ID" number. Even if you generate an unlock code with all the proper parameters, EPM will not be available on new units like the 37xx series which are GMA aware. The maps may unlock using a .unl file with the proper unlock code but the maps won't authenticate without the proper GMA file. In this case, there are two possible error messages that can be displayed:

    1. Cannot Unlock Maps
    2. Cannot Authenticate Maps

The first message requires the proper unlock code (of course)
The second message requires the properly generated (for the mapset/unit ID) GMA file

As mentioned, *unlocked* maps (unlocked with the unlocker) will work but they lose the EPM ability.
