I know you are trying to help and I thank you but I allready know all of this and have tried everything above numerous times.
You never answered my comment about the FIU stopping and quoting "not a detail map" is this normal or has it crashed?
Also Ive also tried the latest checksum fix jetmouse, this doesnt work full stop, Ive tried about 30-40 different keys plus 3-4 mapids, again no joy

I have waited until it finishes. the second smaller image of the uk national parks gets to stage 226 then States "Not a detail map" Press any key to exit and then "Rebuilding map" and underneath that "gmt V0.5.9.2949 and then "Writing: other"
When the window closes i copy the file across the the Garmin folder, reboot and get the cant unlock maps as usual
So, in a nutshell, no it doesnt work

    Ok update
At the moment the dos window is still open and the file size is increasing as Its writing, so hopefully this may be actually doing something

Phew - at last - I was able to sort out my problem using image unlocker 1.9 and a 64-bit O/S - if it doesnt update the original file into the unlocked version, just try this:

Right click on the original .img file and go to properties - attributes and see if "read only" is checked, uncheck it. that should do the trick and hopefully it will work. You see, most of the original .img files are write protected by default.

Make sure not to touch the command prompt window of the unlocker and allow it ample time to finish off and close on its own accord. A good way to verify that the result image is the unlocked version is the time/date stamp, it should reflect the one on your computer at the time of unlocking (writing). It overwrites the original and does not create a backup, as suggested by earlier posters. Well, at least version 1.9 doesn't.

It's not stopped, it's working, the map is big, it needs a lot of time for this map,you must wait till it closes by itself as it's written at the beginning.
JM works, it unlocks with map id 2043, many users made the .unl file for this map.
Read how to use JM keygen, probably you'r doing something wrong.

Default Help with Garmin GB Discoverer

I downloaded this complete (2.5 GB) but whenever I start the GPS I get a message saying (can't unlock maps) I tried to unlock using jetmouse and Garmin_kgen_1.5+Fix to generate a working gmapsupp.unl to no avail. There is no way for me to find the card ID and I have a 32 bit operating system. my GPS is Oregon 450. Please help me if you can. Thanks in advance folks.

Hi, i've read all the info on unlocking and transfering to my GPS. I've got a GPSMAP62ST, using the Latest Jetmouse unlocker, and then transfering the .Img file and .UNL file to a Garmin folder on my SD card ... all i get is can't unloack map... i've used JM to unlock Topo GB without issue but that was via Mapsource, where i could upload the map

Can you explain how the .UNL file is gen'd? maybe a screen grab or 3? It may be i'm not getting this bit correct! all i'm doing is adding in the seriel, saving as GMAPSUPP.unl and selecting all files .... should the file ext .unl be in the file name? as when i transfer it across it still shows as a .txt file on the sd card

How /can i get the 4 .Img files into mapsource? at the mo it will not recognise them i take it they need to be reformatted?

Also how do we know what part of the UK the 4 files are? and can they be renamed just by adding a 1,2,3,4 after the GMAPSUPP??

    Cheers
