Yes, as stated, I have no trouble unlocking the newer cityXplorer maps(s). The unlocked maps work fine on the 37xx but when they are unlocked using any Garmin unlocker, they will not use cityXplorer's enhanced navigation Public Transit modes which will route you on Bus, Train or Metrorail. When the cityXplorer maps are properly being used, the Pedestrian Transportation mode will state "Powered by cityXplorer". The unlocked maps do not state this and do not use the Bus, Train or Metrorail to route you. I have some older version cityXplorer maps (Los Angeles, Venice) that -do- work correctly with the .unl file and the 37xx series. The newer cityXplorer maps do not work correctly because they require the additional .gma protection file/key to enable the enhanced transit modes.

When I had an opportunity to see a device with originally downloaded cityX files, in contained .img file + .unl and .gma. After backing up, nothing happened after removing gma file.

However: when I put the original unlock code from .unl file into analyzer, it also included VendorID!
Usually, maps are accompanied by FID, PID, rarely with RegionID but almost never with VendorID.

Could it be, that we actually generate a faulty unlock code, by incorrectly putting data into Garmin keygenerator? Personaly, I don't think this is very probable, but other thoughts or experiences might be useful.
