The ideal is to change the value to 0 (zero), but I don’t achieved this…, yet.
The process, as I understood; is to convert the map to mapsource, unlock to mapsource, and produce the map to SD…
But I tried to simply change the MS value because remove the file can lock the map in some devices (GMA status: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ).

Sorry to delay in the response, I'm busy; cheers!

To change MS flag to 0 use Gmaptool/Write/Set version in header/MS/0
I cant see any utility to do the above (removing MPS) and ruin your map, you can simply unlock the img with gimgunlock, copy the img in SD/Garmin. Start Basecamp and you'll have the map in your pc.
Gmaptool splitted maps for MS don't have address search enabled too. Pretty useless in gps.

I have problems with the Internet Explorer with highly security measures, which blockade the main parts of the pages of upload and download…
I solve that with the Google Chrome; and I confirm that all 3 links are OK with it.
I sorry for your difficulty but I ask you to try again. By the way, I upload new links with the Map and the POIs:

    POI costa rica NAVSAT 6.4.rar
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Costa Rica NAVSAT 6.4.IMG .rar
