I have a 1390 and there is a JCV folder under .system in the device. But I am wondering if i could create a JCV folder on SDCard as well? Would it work?

How many JCV files can i have in the JCV folder?
For the Map folder, it can have multiple map IMG files and it doesn't matter how they're named. Will it work the same for JCV files?

    thx

1). You can use jcv file in SD card.
2).You can have multiple jcv file in jcv folder. But I like to set one mapset in one folder, because once the Nuvi boot --> all of POIs within all map in map folder will be installed into unit internal memory and will make your device to slowdown (if so many maps). So I rename the folder I want to use the map inside .

Hi, can you share with me how the folder structure should be for the SDcard?

For me i have it as:
    root\Map\map1.IMG
    root\Map\map2.IMG
    root\Map\map2.IMG

    root\JCV\junction1.JCV
    root\JCV\junction2.JCV
    root\JCV\junction3.JCV

The maps work for me but the JCV is not showing/working... So i was wondering if the folder structure is not correct?

    thx

You should try this ...(JCV files in SD Card)

    root\Garmin\JCV\jcvfile1.jcv

But you will not see any JCV picture if your 1390 is not Sg/Mal Os.

hi aekhong, thanks for the info.

Do you mean that JCV only works for the same OS/firmware?
Meaning if i buy a 1390 device from US (with US firmware supporting JCV) but even if i load Malaysia maps it will not have JCV?

    thx

Right ! Us firmware can not display Asia's JCV.
Because of different format of jcv files.

Hi, thank you so much. I finally managed to have my map on my garmin 1390T. For those who download the JCV file, you have to create a folder name map and then put the JCV file. Else it will not work.
