Zooming out and in was the first thing I tried - still no joy.

Should the 3D effects be visible on a nuvi 260?

It is visible on all devices
This 3D is not for buildings, this is only land configuration - you could see mountains, ...

Yep - log into Garmin Update weekly.

I will look at deleting and then restoring everything (reset), and see if that works.

O.K let me know how you get on I know your not a novice, and it has worked on about 20 plus units for me already, from 205w, 255w 765W, 1350 to Zumo 220 and Zumo 660.

My Nokia 5800 does not display it nor will the Windows mobiles

I have Autoroute DEM Basemap NR 2.00 file (gmapbmap.img) size is 90,5 mb

This version 4.00 file size is 49.2 mb

Why so smaller ?

depends on compression ,newer one have better compression like NT vs non Nt

This basemap works on all Garmin units
Btw, I installed on my Nokia 6650, brother's 5800 XM with Mobile XT 5.00.60 and on Mobile PC 5.00.70
It works great
