I have a Prime file with whole sweden but i dont now to unlock it or share it with you. The file name is gmapsupp.img and a made a copy direct from the sd-card.
Help needed.

I think also this is not a Prime file from whole Sweden. But the best way to unlock a img-file from Garmin I think is in the moment the gimgunlock.exe. Search here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for this. It�s wonderfull.

We have seen claims of "Friluftskartan PRIME - whole of Sweden" before. This also sounds like the previous misunderstandings and that's for some important reasons.

Friluftskartan PRIME consists of 308 separate areas. They are hard to combine into one "gmapsupp.img" file with MapSource or MapInstall and the size would be close to 8 GiB.
Even if it's possible to reduce the redundant data in overlapping areas we would end up in a file much larger than 4 GiB. I'm not aware of any Garmin GPS or software that renders IMG-files > 4 GiB.
Probably this is some areas from "Fastighetskartan Sweden" like in the trashed thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

It would however be good if you actually have some real parts of Friluftskartan PRIME. Maybe you could get a content listing of your "gmapsupp.img" file with the help of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

You can unlock all garmin maps with a small program:

That unlocker is old and outdated in that context. Also posted in this forum March 3, 2008 - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
This unlocker is often used in other packages as an unlock engine.

Garmin Friluftskartan Prime is best to unlock with a KG. Otherwise you will get problems with map tile selection for regions you don't have installed. Read more about this in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] & [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
If you use an unlocker then you will enable empty map tiles. Selecting one of them and trying to build a map in MapSource will lead to a application crash in MapSource.

Unlocking other MapSource maps (excluding Friluftskartan Prime) might use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
