    I really do appreciate your help. When I use WinRAR, the file becomes 2.172 GB. Guess I will just go buy a 4 gb card unless I am doing something wrong again.

    @ppcadict

    You will need a 4 GB memory card to hold the IMG file. The file size is about 2.07 GiB (Gibibyte / IEC binary 2^30) or 2.22 GB (Gigabyte / SI 10^9) so a 2 GB memory card isn't enough.
    Size details is for HXUS039R (v11.00).
    The card should also be formated with at least FAT32 (NOT FAT16 or FAT12)

    Just a note that trying to put the IMG and unlock file on a 4GB FAT32 using a Mac OS didn't work. Switching to a PC, deleting the files on the card and then putting them back resulted in a working card. Also, unrar on Mac and the file size is about 1.85Gb. Moving the same file over to a PC and the file size "changes" to about 2.22GB. So the IMG did unrar properly using a Mac, but installing the files using Mac (OS 10.6.4) doesn't work, have to use a PC.

    Can anyone explain why someone would want to buy or d/l limited geographic regions of the g2 charts (such as Chesapeake Bay or S.E.Florida) when they can buy or d/l this g2 bluechart which encompasses the ENTIRE US ?

    Are the limited regional g2 bluecharts more detailed or what ?

    As far as I can see, when you price the g2 Bluecharts for the USA, it's pretty much the same price for the limited regions as it is to buy the Entire US.

    It doesn't make sense to me..... unless there is some difference.

    There is big difference when buying from Garmin - in "$/square mile" (in America) or "€/square kilometer" (in Europe), but there is no difference here (all maps are for free)

    Thanks, this works great. I was surprised how easy this was after i finally got started. As a total newbie it was a challenge, but unbelievably simple.
