Thread: Garmin Sinai Egypt topo map updated 2010-02-23

Hallo Garmin followers,


I prepared a Garmin Sinai Topo Map just from the OSM-data

using the Map Composer. (Map Composer: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ])


The Map includes the contour lines with 20 m distance and

many detailed OSM information, any more as CN.

Here is the dowload link (140.84 MB):

The *.zip includes the file sinai.img, that works in Garmin GPS an Basecamp,

and a complete mapset to install in Mapsource via Mapsettoolkit.

The map includes no routing information.

This was my first Map Composer experiment,

please be merciful. ;-)

Hint:

Install map in Mapsource via Mapsettoolkit:

- at right hand side push [Install] buttom => Window "Install a existing Mapset" appears

- in window 4. row: TDBfile: push [...] buttom, load 78880000.tdb file

- ...5. row: Overview Map: load 78880000.img
- ...7. row: TYP Files: load 78880000.TYP

- ...3. row: Registry Name: write Sinai

last push [Install] buttom. Thats all.


Deinstall:

Table at right hand site at "Mapset installed" mark mapset and pusch [uninstall].
