This sounds like a silly issue, but its bugging me terribly, and i haven't found an answer on google.

Is there a way to prevent my nokia n85 running garmin xt from turning the screen off after x seconds (normally dim in 15secs, off in 30 secs)?

That only seems to work when i've entered a destination. If I just want to track myself on the map and alert me to POI's, it doesn't seem to stay backlit.

Default Unable to Calculate Route to Destination

Trying to set a 112 km long route. Occasionally getting the above error message. Experienced this problem first time only yesterday. The problem goes away after driving for some minutes – e.g. 5-15 minutes. Then SAME route is navigable.
My device is a Nuvi 760 with latest firmware. Any expert ideas? Thanks!

I'm overseas, away from home, and I have a serious problem with my 265WT: it won't boot. It just flashes the Garmin logo over and over. It worked fine here yesterday, with a Europe mapset but today, nothing. Is there anything I can do? When attached to a laptop, the nuvi is NOT recognized. I've tried holding the power on/off switch for 6 seconds but it won't reset.

    Hi,

Always had a Garmin 10x that I used with a Nokia cellphone. Gone are those days and I would like to use the device on my laptop with nRoute and or GarminMobilePC. The thing is though that I never received an install dvd or cd with the device. It was sold as "part" of the phone package.

Downloading GarminMobilePC the software tells me that I need a previous installation on my laptop. Every one tells me to run the MSI and not the EXE. Thing is though that every thing I download that looks like GarminMobilePC is an EXE file. No MSI!

Is there a way to create the correct folder and a file within the folder with the correct filename as needed by the setup program. I know that this trick works with mapsource.

Downloaded EXE file is self-extracting archive.
Run WinRar program, point to EXE file and select "Extract To" (follow on-screen instructions).
Then you will have bunch of files, and one of them will be MAIN.msi, or just MAIN in Explorer (I hate this program) if "Hide known file extensions" is activated (and it is by default).
    Run that MAIN (double-click)

    P.S.
And please, if problem is in some map or program you downloaded in some thread, post questions in that thread, so other members who are downloading could see question and answer

Hello, I have downloaded the latest mapsource files from ling below, but this only appears to be an update, so it wont install... Where could I find a copy of the inital installation files? I have searched "mapsource" and it came back with nothing. Which I thought was odd as well.

    Thanks in advance...

Default Corrupt version of Vista and question about reinstalling my maps

Hi, I had a trojan that damaged a lot of my files. I have eradicated the trojan and reloaded Vista. For whatever reason the files that I saved will not reload and this includes my original version of the patched mapsource and a bunch of my maps.

I have a Garmin GPSmap 276c with the proprietary card and was using City Navigator CNNANT 2010.1 & 2008 Topo USA and City Navigator CNNANT 2011.1, These versions of mapsource are essential for my uses as I share maps with friends using the same gps unit and maps.

Since I loaded these maps months ago I am having a hard time learning how to reinstall them.

At this point I have the following:

Patched version of Mapsource which opens and operates (sans specific maps)
    Jetmouse key generator
    Gmaptool
    Mapinstall Version V3.14.2PE

What else do I need? and is there a detailed tutorial on how to load to Mapsource? Since my unit does not have an SD card and does have the Garmin proprietary card I know that I have to install the maps to Mapsource and then upload them to the unit but cannot remember which tutorial to use.

    Can someone help please?
