Default Zumo 595LM TTS Voice Editor... Does it exist?

Hi, so I started using the suite of tools from turboccc, to 'upgrade' my old nuvi 1490... However I've recently got my mitts on a 595 zumo. I was hoping the old tools would still work with the Zumo but alas no joy (unsurprisingly).

Looking for answers, I read this thread:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

So it seems it may be possible, although I'm far from confident I'd be able to follow these steps without destroying something in the process.

If a new tts editor exists, would anybody know where I could find it.

    Cheers

I see that the majority of users still live in past times
You have to understand, technology is advancing, devices are advancing, systems are advancing, software is advancing

It's visual appearance resembles like the old device, however, everything is different under the hood
It's easiest to understand, comparing the cell phones of the past with buttons and today's Android/iPhone mobile

Today's Garmin technology is even more closed and none of the tools are available
Before asking a question, know it's already discussed here and at 99.9% is not unique. Use search.

Many questions become very arduous, a lot of time chewed deja vu...Since we have lost all the year of work and effort, many people have no will to answer the same questions again. Me neither. Use a search, please.

Hey Boki, thanks for the uplifting response. I'll have a go at following the method described in the thread.

    @dub lad
TTS3 first appeared in the final nuvi range (2xx7/3797 in Mar/Apr 2013). So, your zumo 595 released in April 2016 wasn't one of the first devices to use TTS3, aka "Real Voice", VPM files which give landmark names in navigation directions and is still used by recently released Garmin PNDs. Unfortunately, turboccc seems to have retired from Garmin modding many years ago, so TTS Voice Editor is orphaned. It remains relevant to edit TTS(1) and TTS2 files but can't cope with TTS3 as you found.

The RU method in Post #3 of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] is indeed relevant. Member osiris4isis explains it further in posts on Page 2 there. Unfortunately, he also no longer seems to visit here either.

Good luck, but if you do soft-brick your device with a faulty VPM file we can easily help you cure it so don't worry too much about "destroying something".

Please post back and let us know how it goes, all feedback on such experimentation is welcome here - even if it's a negative outcome.

Hi Neil, I'll see if i can follow the steps from post #17. Good to know there's a safety net in place! I'll report back here once I start making progress or lack thereof.
