Haven't been here for years, very surprised my user/pass still work.
Anyway,
I lived in AK for almost 35 years and have had 2 Garmin GPS's.
I believe the 1st one was Garmin GPS 12.
That should date me.
Years later, I wanted a mappimg function and marine use.
So, I bought a Garmin GPSMAP 76CSx.
I used it for back country foot and vehicle travel and kayak travel.
I'm still using it.
I've never seen a newer GPS that can outdo it.
And, it still works very well.
I now live in Hawaii and have only been using it recently to survey my property to locate corner posts and such.
I occasionally use it to check oh vehicle travels.
Batteries went bad and leaked inside.
So, I shelved it, thinking about throwing it away.
After about 2 years I went back to look at it to probably toss it.
It's working again just as well as when new.
So, why am I here?
I am familiar with this GPS.
When I turned it on this morning for the 1st time in a long time, the signal strength bars on the opening page now have multiple colors.
They were only one color before, grey. Now I see grey, red and I think yellow colored signal bars for the satelites.
Signal strength is supposedly indicated by the height length of the bars.
What's going on?
EDIT:
I found it.
The menu for the opening satellite page gives an option for single or multi colors, never knew that till now.
Probably should use it more often.
