Thread: How to update maps on Garmin eTrex Vista HCX ?

Hello,
I have a GARMIN eTrex Vista HCx that only has Basmap.
How can I update the map for Bulgaria?

They have maps for all of: Africa, Australia-Oceania, Central-America, Europe, North-America and South-America

If you want Official Garmin Topo maps you will not finds them here.

There are 2 ways to put maps on an Etrex:

One by copying the IMG file to the SD card as posted below.

Spoiler: On SD card in the folder Garmin

Then reinstall the SD card.

or

Connect the Etrex to the PC via USB cable and transfer the map info you want to the Etrex via Garmin MapSource

I always download both files the IMG and the install package for MapSource and BaseCamp.

With it being in MapSource you can lay out tracks and send them to the Etrex too.

Тhis happens every time when i try to upload maps to the device. I tried MapSource and BaseCamp its the same ...

I can not make out your screen shot.
When I try to zoom in it is out of focus
You need to make a better one that is full size.
Plus spell out the error message you are getting.

There is a problem with the OpenTopoMap_Bulgaria.gmap causing this MapSource error message
