I wanted maps, charts, and waterproofness.
So, I replaced my Garmin GPS12 with a GPSMAP 76CSx about 2007.
Pulled it out to use it to setup a new weather station the other day, hadn't used it in years.
To my amazement, the strength bars and the satellite icons on the Acquisition page were colored.
They had always been just gray before with colors mainly showing on the maps and charts.
Was there a change in the info transmitted to the handheld, or what?
If so, when did it happen?

have you done any recent update? maybe on the newer versions, the color changed
