Even if your 3790 doesn't have an Lifetime Maps (LM) entitlement, GarminExpress should offer an update of the original factory-loaded map area but at a cost of course. It will default to the original map area entitlement after you press "See Pricing" button however you can browse other purchase options if you additionally press the default field as shown in the image below:

The problem is that although you'll be charged very large amounts for maps outside of your device's original area, you will only get the actual map itself and no additional files that are supplied when you buy map updates for the device's original area entitlement.

If you're looking to download 'free' unlocked maps from this forum [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. There are many other places on the web where you can though. We don't allow direct links to other forums so just search for GPS URL and/or Navi Total and you'll not only find the maps you need but also the additional ancillary files such as JCV and ASR files required to get full use of the mapping data.
