You clearly could access preboot previously because you loaded RGN fw as per this post elsewhere:
It seems likely that when you've tried to change from DS to dezl and vice versa there has been some corruption or incompatibility of firmware. So i need to know exactly what you did, in detail, step-by-step using a time-line for the conversion/re-conversion and what firmwares you used with links to those firmware files please (also state if the fw was original or hybrid, also the HWIDs used in the RGN files if overwritten in RGN_Tool). Also state if you have hard-reset and/or cleared nonvol and whether you've kept any copy/s of the nonvol region at any point in the manipulations.Hi, Butters, I have a Garmin DriveSmart 50 LM, which I rewrote the firmware with a Dezl 580, but when I restarted it, the screen was inactive. When I returned to the DriveSmart 50, it was working properly again. Then, using the rgn Dezl 580 file, I created a Cure3 rgn file, which I installed using Updater, hoping that I could somehow to recalibrate the screen. Now I can't go back to DriveSmart 50 because it doesn't enter in preboot mode at all. I formatted the device with RMPrepUSB but in vain, then I formatted it with Windows, also in vain. It always appears on the screen that it is connected to the PC. What can I do?
To help you we have to establish precisely the chain of events as well as what is the firmware loaded presently and whether HWIDs were changed along the chain. With that precise knowledge the device might be recoverable.
