Default Garmin Zumo 340 keep resetting on battery

    Hi!

    Maybe someone will help.
Fully charged Zumo 340 after power on is resetting but on external power is OK.
When I plug it to external power is working fine, when unpluged from external power also working good.

Problem is first power on on battery - reset loop.

It hardly has anything to do with this forum Replace battery.

I can only guess what it is. But if it's like in laptops and/or mobile - the solution is written.
Or component of battery electronics or some cell.
Before asking a question, know it's already discussed here and at 99.9% is not unique. Use search.

Many questions become very arduous, a lot of time chewed deja vu...Since we have lost all the year of work and effort, many people have no will to answer the same questions again. Me neither. Use a search, please.

When booting, device is using more power than in normal work.
If battery cell has little to high internal resistance (result of aging) than voltage drops under certain limit and device resets.
Final diagnosis could be made with voltmeter connected to battery at booting and see if voltage drops too much (even for moment), but anyway it is (almost) certain reason for your problem.
It's a totally accurate description of your problem. So either install a new Battery, or just accept it as it is and continue using it on external power

    You confirmed my assumptions.
I was confused because navigation is working about 4 hours on battery (powered on external source while booting and then disconnected from external power).
    Anyway, I will replace battery.
    Thanks!

Changing battery doesn't fix the issue.
    Hard reset, reflash also.
At diag folder I found files with some information:
    Basic Shutdown Information:
    Error Type: Abnormal Powerdown

"Error Type: Abnormal Powerdown" indicates that device lost power at some moment, probably at some point while booting.
Than it is obvious hardware problem.
In device is circuit which controls charging battery and also powering device from battery when there is no external power supply.
Problem could be (and probably is) in this circuit. But again, without physical measurements it's impossible to find exact source of problem.
If you can live with this situation than it is better to leave as it is, otherwise you have to find qualified person to repair it.
