Correct, on this model nüvi you can not select any time zone. However, you CAN select GPS Simulator on (Tools -> Settings -> System -> GPS Simulator) and select a location in Europe.

I disagree with you here. This discussion was not big and - in my opinion - holds educational content. Other visitors or members, having the same issue, now at least know it is a shortcoming in the MTK firmware since the GPS week number rollover (WNRO). For those unfamiliar with this phenomenon, see this article by Garmin:

This discussion was probably a waste of time for most, because the rollover issue has been known. It was great for me because I thought it was a timezone issue, and through this discussion with the MTK info, I started looking for other causes. I appreciate all forum support, especially on feedback for these old units having somewhat minor problems.

But that exactly is the strength of this forum. Not only experts come here. Also navigation users less knowledgeable or even complete noobs. When you came up with the suggestion the local time issue could have to do with the WNRO (and it being your first post here!), I wondered why I had not thought of that myself. The discussion in this thread eventually lead to you solving the issue. Or at least, indicating the exact cause of the issue.

For those for whom this thread was a waste of time (read: those who already knew or suspected the reason for the incorrect local time): too bad they did not participate in the early stages of it. It would have limited the length of the thread.

In line of that thought: ever since the "server incident" that took place on March 14, 2017, we get to see less of the navigation software experts on this forum. In the "olden days", at least one of them would have given the solution within the first 5 posts. It was a blend of members of all levels of expertise that made this forum big. It is sad to see that fading.
