Thanks for the file. I will give it a try.

And still no way to figure out which device types it will go with (may be the resolution is the key), just a wild guess.

Yes, "resolution" (picture size) is a vital clue for US/EU full screen 480*270 because there are always only SVG (Vector) links in the file, so any device which uses full screen natively can use them (eg nuvi 7x5, 1xxx and related). But picture size isn't telling you everything for split screen 212*234 because they can have either Vector or Raster links with JPG or BMP images respectively. E.g: US/EU Essential Series 4x/5x use the Raster links with BMP images, whereas 2xxx/3xxx use Vector links with JPG files. That info is available to you in IMGTool via "Show Details" button. See the image in Post#10 showing "Only SVG Junction Views" as well as the Picture Size. This is the current Essential Series JCV for Lower 49 2019.30 map:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Therefore, for US/EU devices anyway, there can be only 3 possibilities of JCV types: (i) Full screen 480*270 JPG images with SVG (Vector) links; (ii) Split screen 212*234 JPG images with SVG links; or (iii) Split screen 212*234 BMP images with Raster links. As I pointed out earlier also, once you know the file name of the a JCV that works in your device you can predict the next in the series for the next map version as it will increase by '10'.

There are further differences in JCV for Asian devices but that shouldn't concern you.
