For a map to also show up in BaseCamp, the MS flag of the map needs to be set to '0'.
A crashing BaseCamp could be an indication that the installation may have got corrupt. Try reinstalling BaseCamp.
Hello. I got the Etrex 30x with a genuine map on the device (TopoDrive Hellas), everything works great. Tried one free map on my microSD card, ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ], everything worked fine, and I can see both genuine, Pegasus map, and the TopoActive Europe that's bandled with the device on BaseCamp when I connect the device to basecamp.
Then I tried a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Unlocked map, and I couldn't see it on BaseCamp when I connected the device. I can view the map on the etrex 30x, but not on BaseCamp. Then I copied [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] on the microSD. I can see the map on the device, but when I connect and startup BaseCamp, it instantly crashes. Removed the microSD, connected and restarted BaseCamp, still crashes. Uninstalled, cleaned all files, reinstalled, reset basecamp settings, but as soon as I connect my eTrex, it crashes. Reset the etrex, BaseCamp still crashes when I connect the device. I can use BaseCamp when I don't have the device connected, but using BaseCamp with no maps is not fun, and not being able to connect the device beats the purpose of BaseCamp. Does this mean there is problem with unlocked maps? Did it lock basecamp because I used an unlocked map? Any ideas?
Moved post from eTrex Touch 25/35 FW section to Garmin Discussions section.

Which Basecamp version? Do you get error report when crashing? Mac or Windows?
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
BaseCamp 4.5.2,
driver grmnusb.sys 2.3.1.0,
Windows 7 SP1 64bit all up-tp-date and genuine,
no patches on basecamp,
etrex 30x with latest genuine firmware,
topoactive europe 2.0.1 genuine,
topodrive hellas v2015.B1 genuine.
I've already uninstalled, cleaned everything, reinstalled, deleted all tracks from device (since it's a common problem that can cause basecamp to crash), reset the application and the device. Yet, the problem remains. I didn't have any problem prior to installing the unlocked anadigit 6.41 map to the microsd. (As I said before, I already removed the microSD and removed this map).
May you post Basecamp crash log, it usually shows it up?

No crash logs generated. The event viewer gives me the following message under errors:

The exception code is always the same, the other numbers change.
Just did it, same thing. Also if I connect using Garmin type instead of Mass storage device, I'm getting a message that the following items cannot be transferred: -waypoints, -routes. I did a master reset and my problems are still there.
I also tried to update my Eastern Europe map (released today, version 3) with Garmin Express. Firstly I used Garmin Type connection, but Garmin Express gave me a message: Update Failed. Then I used Mass Storage Device connection and the update succeeded.

But the map itself works on the device with no problems.
I tried my gps on a mac as well. If I make connection on Garmin type, basecamp and garmin express on mac, both of the programs crash. But if I connect it using Mass Storage Device type, it works and shows the maps and all custom data (waypoints, routes etc).
Do you usually connect garmin using Mass Storage Device connection type, or Garmin type?
