I think I already know the answer: Can't be done. Just wanted to make sure. No combination of Gmaptool, JaVaWa Map converter, JaVaWa Map Reverse Converter, gpsdaemon, Mapsource Product Creator, etc. will do it?
My problem is the big .img files on my 60CSx...sd only holds 4 Gb of maps. So, I could install without search functionality and choose the selected areas I'll visit (Tour du Mont Blanc, so Italy, France, and Switzerland topos) to create a smaller mapset, or use 3 sd cards, or better yet, buy a nice new Montana or Monterra. I love the fact you can put several .img files on the card, with any name.
Well, yes, I could put all the maps on one large sd, and rename to gmapsupp.img as needed, but I don't think I'll have access to a computer on the trail, nor do I have a portable tablet. I don't have a smartphone either...can one rename the file with a smartphone if it has a sd card slot, just out of curiosity?
I got the Basecamp and MapInstall patched, and IMdisk virtual drive going. This is the greatest forum!
